Safeguarding Week – Promoting Resilience & Preventing Harm Full Day Conference

Course overview

This Conference will be hosted by Jake Mills a comedian by profession and suicide awareness campaigner. He is the founder of the National Charity Chasing the Stigma and the mental health app Hub of Hope.

Additional Course Information

The conference will include presentations from:

  • Chukumeka Maxwell, Safe Talk Trainer & founder of Action to Prevent Suicide.
  • Dez Holmes, the Director for Research in Practice & Research in Practice for Adults she will talk about Child to Adult Exploitation. Dez champions evidenceinformed practice across the children’s and adults social care sector in order to improve outcomes for children, young people, adults requiring support and their families and carers
  • People First – Self Advocacy Organisation for People with Learning Disabilities will talk about Resilience.

There will be workshops in the afternoon on the themes presented in the morning and there will be a

number of information stalls available throughout the day.
