Sexual Development in Children and Adolescents

Course overview

Course Description

The training will encourage practitioners to consider the sexual development trajectory for children and adolescents, supporting identification of healthy, problematic and harmful sexual behaviours. The training will use established tools such as the Brook Traffic Light Tool and will include interactive activities, to encourage practitioners to share learning experiences and examples of good practice, in addition to providing a networking forum and an opportunity to enhance skills in dealing with this at times challenging area for children, adolescents and practitioners alike. This course will be delivered by the Focus Forensic CAMH service, with support from Wakefield Youth Offending Team .

 

Target Audience

All practitioners and managers who work with children young people and their families e.g. school staff, social workers, children first hub staff and the YOT. Health staff would also benefit from this briefing. It is expected that delegates will have already completed basic safeguarding training.
