All education establishments in Wakefield are encouraged to undertake an annual self-assessment of their safeguarding arrangements. The Safeguarding Advisor for Education reviews and updates the full audit tool to ensure that it is consistent with all local priorities, current guidance and the Ofsted inspection framework. This has been released to DSL’s in Sept 2017.
This is a self-evaluation and it is designed to be a learning process and a mechanism by which strengths and areas for development can be identified by the DSL team. This can then be signed off by governors and kept for your own records and review. There is no need to return this document.
If there are any queries or you would like a consultation with the advisor to discuss, please contact me on the details below.
The short Survey Monkey audit, issued in the spring term, will require all schools to complete and return as evidence for the safeguarding board. This is delayed until the new Keeping Children Safe In Education guidance is released.
